From inception, He was in charge of directing the ships both navigationally and in command of these numerous vessels in the upstream oil & gas industry, exclusively designed for advanced deep ocean drilling and underwater pipeline laying.

The theme of this position focused exclusively on vessel safety featuring advanced level training and underwater safety concentration with supervised marine-instruction, boating. A sampling of his "marine-related" achievements included:
  • He recruited, personally trained and supervised many of the marine personnel including coordinators, mates and boat captains.
     
  • He helped design some of the company's 44 custom built 97-foot "mono-hull boats, specially adapted for rough seas, with the latest electronics and convenience features for high speed water travel.

As the school's Project Director, He was in charge of daily training operations and personally directed the expansion of the MARINE FIREFIGHTING DIVISION, an exclusive 150' Tug, that had been re-located inland and designed to be fully engulfed in flames. "Our students need real-life firefighting experiences, the hands-on type", Wahl said. The school was situated on a spacious 23 acre marine training facility with a numerous variety of live fire fighting scenarios and 4, State-of-the-Art classrooms using the latest Audio-Visual equipment.

His principal responsibility there was to create an "unique-learning environment" operation featuring advanced level marine safety training, live firefighting, fire prevention with supervised hands-on assessments and challenging activities. A sampling of his "marine safety-related" achievements included:

It is a marine training facility with a well trained staff of professionals using 2 classrooms with the latest Audio-Visual equipment.

He has written numerous books which are used routinely at the Sea School's training facilities around the country; Rules of the Road, First Aid/CPR, Radar, Terrestrial Navigation and recently one focused on Ultra-Modern Radar and AIS.

His principal responsibility there was to create an "unique-learning environment" operation featuring advanced level marine safety training and full mission ship radar simulator with supervised hands on assessments and challenging activities. Following his more than 40-years' accumulation of "hands-on" professional field experience in marine industry, He returned from the Fort Lauderdale area with a well established private practice, KEN WAHL - MARINE LAW CONSULTING, devoted to safety consulting and litigation support, now located in both Tampa and in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. His maritime safety consulting practice (pro-actively) specializes in marine accident prevention conducting on-site safety inspections and providing remedial consultation to owners of passenger carrying vessels, commercial shipping, yachts, insurance companies, law firms, boating industry and marine equipment manufacturers. Our marine litigation support practice (reactively) specializes in injury/accident consulting, investigation and expert witness services to the legal community regarding recreational and commercial boating accidents and death matters. A total of 18-years prior experience in handling numerous cases, including an equal balanced between Plaintiff and Defense.

His hands-on experience in serious and/or fatal marine accident investigation has provided him the expertise to determine causal factors, recommend corrective action, and implement operational, maintenance and safety training programs to minimize litigation exposure. And, in working with plaintiff and defense attorneys on a large number of cases, We have found that the combination of the firms extensive boating reference resources, unmatched professional expertise, and meticulous preparation skills are the keys to success for the law firms we serve.
